King of Pop

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson, king of pop, the idol if many. A lot of people look up to him as a dream to follow.

Many people admired his music as he created many songs with the first band, Jackson 5. He then left the band to sing alone. He sang many songs live as he was loved like the king, that’s probably why he got the name “King of Pop”!

Michael Jackson was born on the 29th of August 1958 and he unfortunately died at the age of 49 on the 25th of June 2009. He had many occupations such as Musician, Singer-Song Writer, a dancer and many many more.

I think of him as an Idol to follow. I love you Michael Jackson, Rest in Peace MJ, my King of Pop!!!

Poems with Joshua Iosefo

Poems with Joshua Iosefo

Writing poems with Joshua has been the coolest thing i’ve worked on this year. He tought us how to write spoken word poems. I will go through my experience with him step by step and tell you all about it.

Me and 4 others got called out to work with him by Mrs Lagitupu. At first I thought it would be really hard to try and create a really good peice of writing, but Joshua told us all we had to write about was something that meant a lot to us.

My team and I all had something different to write about. I wrote about how Art is everything we are and everything that’s around us. We wrote about it on a peice of plain paper that he gave us.

In the end we had to do some excercises to give us enough energy to say our speech without lacking energy, so we didn’t go from lots of energy to none in a finger snap. So we did the excercises and said the speech in front of the team.

We all said our speech and  Joshua gave us tips on how to improve on our writing. We ended up having to work on it a little bit more to make sure that it all made sense and it was the way we wanted it to be.

We all gathered the team together and filmed each other saying our poem and doing actions to it. Finally we had finished our sessions with Joshua. THANK YOU JOSHUA!!!!!

STKS

STKS

Stks, probably the coolest guest to come to this school for this year. He is so cool because he made extremely funny remixes of old songs like, Do a deer from the sound of music. He told us to repeat after him and sing along. The boys sang “To the left, to the left” while the girls had to sing a song with Stks. We had lots of fun listening to him make his funny jokes. We had to cheer him on to get him back out to sing some more songs when he finished his first lot of songs. We all admired his singing when he came to inspire us. Thank you to Stks.

Man of the Sea

Man of the Sea

He takes a whiff of the salty sea as the breeze follows him in his path. The rushing waves call out to him as he strolls past, he looks far out until he could see nothing but mist. He can feel the crystals in the sand beneath him and it shimmers in his eyes as he looks down to see them shining. He listens to what surrounds him. He can hear the seagulls chirping in his ear. He hears the cheers of the children and their families as they all cheered with laughter.

He notices an incredible sign of fear as everyone leaps out of the water because of something that circles around at the bottom sea. It crawls closer to the people and puts them in danger. He sees a grey shadow under the surface of the water. Suddenly a great white shark jumped up onto the beach thinking that it had a chance of catching someone for it’s tea.

No-one got hurt except for the shark, it was in terrible condition. It was stuck in the sand and couldn’t roll back into the water. It was too heavy to push back into the water and everyone was scared to go near it.

He eventually had a light-bulb appear in his mind which gave him an idea. He asked many people if he could borrow their phone or have them ring animal rescue to help the beast back into the deep waters. He eventually got someone to ring and the animal rescue team came straight away because it was an urgent case. They eventually got the shark in position and set off to save the shark.

Everyone had to leave the beach for some people to make sure that there was no more sharks lurking in the water. In the end they got the thumbs up and they could hop back into the water. So it was a happy ending for everyone.

Sunday's Earthquake

Did anyone feel the earthquake? Because I actually didn't! I found out from my mum's friend who came to us and asked us if we had heard about it. We told her we didn't feel a thing and she said she didn't either. Oh well, I missed out on my chance of feeling my first earthquake. I just hope it doesn't get any worst.

Assembly with Mr M

Assembly with Mr M

"Welcome to another Fiafia assembly and say hello to Mr Muliaumaseali'i!"

"Hello everyone, now I just heard everyone talking about posture and you know that my hair has that posture!" he says. We all crack up laughing at the smirk he pulls and we all know that the fun is going to start.

"Now, as you all know I am Ms Muliaumaseali'i's brother. I came here to share with you my gift. Hopefully I will give you some thoughts and insrpiration for your future!" He starts to shout at us "Minoi, minoi, minoi, minoi, minoi" over and over again. He tells us to join in, so we do. Then he eventually starts singing opera in samoan. He sounded great and you could tell because we had raised our hands above our heads and started waving them. We all cheered because we admired his music.

He carries on with his great singing with Pt England echoing him. We all support him and back him up. He finishes his song and thanks us for having him.

We all greet him goodbye and he left the room. We all wanted to see him perform his funny jokes and his great songs. We had lots of fun and we will always remember him for the funny morning he brought to our school.

Thank you to Mr Muliaumaseali'i!

The Invaded Island

The Invaded Island

Friday the 1st of March. The day of our school picnic. Everyone had counted down the days and nights for this picnic to occur. It was almost within our reach. “Today’s the day!” I exclaimed. Time ticks by and I get closer to the beginning of the picnic.

“Come on uncle, you need to hurry along otherwise we’re going to be late!” I shout at him. “Okay, okay I’m coming, let’s go.” “Finally!” I say. It’s now time for the picnic. We head to Pt. England reserve to set up the picnic.

I start to complain of an unusual smell that was dreadful! As I got closer to our picnic spot, I started to feel dizzy because of the awful smell the beach had produced. I looked around to see if there was something strange about the beach. Turns out there was nothing there! “Makayla!” “Wow!” I say. “What are you doing?” asked Ashlee. “Oh, nothing but can you smell that odour? Honestly you can pretty much see the waves of the stink rising from the ground!” “ Yeah, it’s pretty bad but it’s probably just the sea water getting to you!” says Ashlee.

I started to hear strange noises coming from the beach. I looked over to see nothing but pure water, rocks and sand. I look deeper and harder into the water. The day’s starting to die down slowly, but we’ve still got more day to have fun with so we take it and do what ever we can with it. Suddenly . . . . . . . “RROOAARR!” Something appears out of the water. Everyone screams and runs around like crazy. I stand in fear as the sea monster springs out at me and shouts at me loudly! I still stand there in silence as I raise my hands above my head. The monster pauses and crawls back into the water. At that moment I feel like I’ve been cursed with powers but that’s just ridiculous!

I go to find my uncle and my sister to make sure they’re alright. Everything is okay. We walk off to school, everyone still in shock from the mysterious monster that lurched in the water. Whatever it is, It’s gone now, but we know to be warned about what’s in the world of the unknown.

The day continues and we are eventually released to go home. That is a day to remember. But I am still wandering if I really do have powers. NEK MINIT . . . . . . . . .
